Saturday Tunes with Dennis Cooper

This Saturday, class is back in session — but don’t worry, there won’t be any pop quizzes. Just a whole lot of foot-tappin’ melodies and good old-fashioned charm as we welcome Dennis Cooper to the Garden Stage from 4 to 7 p.m.

A retired professor from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, Dennis may have traded chalkboards for chord charts, but his passion for sharing knowledge and connecting through art hasn’t slowed a bit. These days, his lesson plan leans more toward the musical — serving up acoustic folk, country, and rock favorites from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s.

Dennis is a River Falls local, a nature-loving hiker, and a gifted photographer whose eye for beauty extends well beyond the classroom. Around town, you’ll also find him helping coordinate Music in the Park, because some folks just can’t help but bring people together through music.

So come on out and enjoy an evening that’s part concert, part campfire singalong, and all heart. Raise a glass, grab a flatbread, and get ready to learn something — like how good music, good people, and good wine make the finest kind of summer school.
